# [Plugin: WP Mail SMTP] Activation Message?

 * I get the following message when I activate the plug-in:
 * The plugin generated 175 characters of unexpected output during activation. If
   you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or
   other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.
 * Is this normal?

 * Yes, it’s normal. It’s not a problem. Ideally, it would not appear, but I haven’t
   yet tracked down what causes the problem. I believe it’s related to an issue 
   in WordPress, but I might be wrong.

 * This thread is slightly dated, but I also had this error occur. I’m using GoDaddy’s
   shared hosting platform. I haven’t had this impact the performance of the plugin,
   however.
 * Note: I’ve tried it on other hosts (e.g. my own server) and have used the plugin
   without receiving the error.
