  • I am trying to link a url to a local file on my network for use as a intranet site so that if the file gets updated it will still be current on the site without having to upload it again. When I add the File URL it says “Could not get the file information from C:\myfolder\mydocument.doc. Is there a way to do this in WP-Filebase or do I need to upload everytime a document is changed. My only reason for doing this is that there will be multiple people on my intranet and we have to update our documents and presentations often. I love the interface that you have and would love to be able to do this instead of doing a collapse/expand text with a hyperlink to the files.

WP-Filebase currently only supports HTTP URLs, local paths do not work. Your file has to be accessible with HTTP.

Alternativly you can just override the file in WP-Filebase upload directory and enable automatic sync.

Hi and thanks for a fabilous plugin:

I have been trying to make the file sync work with a folder on a local network drive(that is mounted on the server), but am not getting it to work.

Wp-filebase seems to acceept the url, but I’ not getting the files into wp filebase.

    The path is like this:
    S:\folder\folder\folder\sub folders with files

    Wp-filebase sais:
NOTICE: The upload path S:\folder1\folder2\folder3 is rooted to the filesystem. You should remove the leading slash if you want to use a folder inside your WordPress directory (i.e: folder1/folder2/folder3)

What am I doing wrong? or is it maybe not possible to store the files in a folder/disk outside the web directory?

This is just a note you can ignore. Absolute paths are supported, you just need to sync after changing the upload path.
