[Resolved] [Plugin: WP Family Tree] Incorrect opening page

  • To start: this is an awesome plugin, i luv it!
I spent some time on the forums and it is actually really easy to use. I (or rather my father) have been looking for something like this for quite some time.
My problem is: how do i specify the opening ‘ancestor’ or post. i filled in most of the people i know before i show my father how to work it. My grandfather had 5 kids and i would like him to be the ‘openig page’ top of the tree, but it keeps on using my dad’s sister as a opening page. As soon as I remove a few of her kids, it used my grandfather again as a opening page. Is there a magic number? or is there something like a ‘sticky’ feature i can use to specify the opening ancestor.

    Hi swvdm…

Sorry I hadn’t seen this post… I might be able to help..

On the page that shows the family tree I assume you have put the shortcode [family-tree]. Try changing that to something like [family-tree root=’John Doe’]

Alternatively [family-tree root=X] where X is the post ID of the post that represents your grandfather.

Other notes for using the plugin can be found at the Family Tree support page.

    Hope this helps..!

    perfect thx
