I am unable to get my images to link to Facebook. According to FB Debugger I keep getting this error for my pages. How do I fix this?

    Response Code: 200
    Fetched URL: http://sgoodwinart.com/
    Canonical URL: http://sgoodwinart.com/
    Errors That Must Be Fixed
More Than One OG URL Specified: Object at URL 'http://sgoodwinart.com/' of type 'article' is invalid because it specifies multiple 'og:url' values: http://sgoodwinart.com/, http://sgoodwinart.com.

Here's the problem - you have two plugins generating open graph meta tags installed:
Facebook Like and Send (2 in 1)http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/facebook-like-and-send-2-in-1/
as well as WP Facebook Open Graph protocol
Both plugins are adding open graph meta.
Try disabling the 2-in-1 og function or delete it and use another plugin just for the like and tweet buttons

I deactivated the FB Like and Send and activated, April's Facebook Like Button. Now the links to the pages are incorrect. I'm getting:

Inferred Property: The 'og:description' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Unable to download og:image: The image referenced by the url of og:image tag could not be downloaded.

    original: http://sgoodwinart.com/blog/
    og:url: http://sgoodwinart.com/

The FB like option doesn't show on the blog page either.
    What should I do now?

I changed to another FB like page. I'm using the following plug-ins but my blog posts are not linking. They default to the home page.
    All in One SEO Pack
    Contact Form 7
    Contact Form With Captcha
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    Simple Local Avatars
    WP Facebook Like
    WP Facebook Open Graph protocol

Several things: I'm going to post each seperately

1.) Front Page and blog page og meta now has the single reference og:image - so this is fixed.
2.)The image is a png type - (I take it this image is set as Sitewide Image?) try changing the default og:image to a .jpg file - sometimes Facebook has problems with png files
Here's a useful article Fix- Articles Linked on Facebook Don’t Display Thumbnails There's links from that article to Facebooks Lint tool which helps to diagnose problems - and clears Facebooks cache - if images that are linked to your Facebook posts have changed, this tool refreshes the cache
3.) To keep things as simple as possible to get this working - use an image located in your site, like you have done with some posts I checked - Once it's working you can try using a photobucket link again

Duplicate og: image reference in Post
Looking at source for one of your posts I'm seeing a double og:image reference. one to the image you want for the post, and another for the sitewide image
    Post - ansonalex.com/troubleshooting/fix-articles-linked-on-facebook-dont-display-thumbnails-images/
    <meta property="og:image" content="http://kristopher-raphael.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/celebration-on-the-mountain.jpg">
    <meta property="og:image" content="http://i1065.photobucket.com/albums/u398/goodwinart/FB-image-thumbnail0625-1.png">

    Try these:
In WP Facebook Open Graph protocol admin - completely remove the "Default image URL to use" and check the post source (and clear site cache)
This should fix the double image in posts. If this fixes the post images - then just add links for og images to the front page and blog page

If not: There are a few possibilities
(You don't mention if you deleted the other plugin or just de-activated it) Or if you deleted it completely, the plugin may have left files in the folder (unlikely, but it happens - delete these by FTP) or a reference in the database which is still being pulled into posts... If this is the case you may need to edit or drop the database table(s) for removed plugin. (LAST RESORT - it's tricky to edit DB)

Thank you for helping me with this.
    So here's what I did...
1.I read your notes and the article and installed their suggested strong>Add Facebook Share Thumbnail + Meta 1.2 plug in.
    2. Changed image files from png to jpeg
    3. Used the FB Lint Tool
    4. Set featured images in theme pages all except for contact page. It kept placing the featured image in the actual page, so I deleted it.
    5. Added default jpeg image (from photobucket) in FBOGP
    6. All pages are showing the default image except for the Blog page. See notes below.

    Current Errors
1.Blog Page is redirecting to the wrong page. It should redirect to the original url.
    Redirect Path Error:
    og:url: http://sgoodwinart.com/

    2.FB Lint Debugger Error:
Object at URL 'http://sgoodwinart.com/' of type 'website' is invalid because the given value '256201747827917' for property 'fb:admins' could not be parsed as type 'fbid'.

I clicked on my profile pic for both personal and business pages to get the number. I alternately tried them both and they both keep giving me this error.

    Any suggestions?

Try using your own Facebook ID for fb:admins 148384568609636 for the parse error

Question: What theme are you using?

For the other problems with the images:
Please don't take offence - Would you consider allowing me admin access to your site? You can create a temporary admin account and delete it afterwards
Also for server access - Cpanel, File manager, or whatever it's called on your hosting.
I know this is a big trust thing
Please backup your site and DATABASE first if you are willing

No offense taken. I wouldn't even know where to begin to ensure that I don't mess something up myself. lol! That too huge of a risk on my part. I'm new at this whole thing. I'll repost the errors in the forum. Do you have any other suggestions?
I'm using Theme Foundry's Photography template.

    No problemo
Just had another look at your blog post source - no more duplicate og:image entry... so whatever you did fixed that
The FB admin - I think you need to check your admin id 'number' facebook can't find that ID - I think if you change that to your main facebook profile id number the problem will be solved. There's no other reason for the error - og meta markup is sound - not something wrong with your site
Good theme by the way - those chaps make nice ones...

Thanks. I like their themes and the support staff is really good. I tried clicking on my profile pic to get the id number. Is that right?

  12. mikeotgaar
    Posted 3 years ago #

Yes, with a complication (I take it you have customised your profile URL (instead of showing a number it shows a readable name - like a WordPress "pretty" permalink).
The id number is contained in the profile image link - at the end

    http://www.facebook dotcom/media/set/?set=a.1424855187446.2061940.1414746237&type=1
That section in bold is the id number part

I am also trying to install the facebook plugin in my website: http://karianify.com/

    But it gives an error:
More Than One OG URL Specified

I'm not sure what's causing this. Any idea?

Did you change plugins? - I see reference to SHR Open Graph Tags, not this one

    Hi there,

    Same error message:
"More Than One OG URL Specified".
I'm using WordPress SEO by Yoast for Open Graph.
    Other plugins I'm using:
    - Akistmet
    - categories to tags converter
    - ck editor for wordpress
    - fast secure contact form
    - feedburner feed smith
    - google analytics
    - google xml sitemap
    - quick cache
    - SEO data transporter
    - ShareThis
    - Social Media Widget
    - Subscirbe to comments reloaded
    - WP-DB
    - Tweet old post

When I try to share a post to facebook, it only shows the main url for my website. Not the post title nor any image.

Would be really nice to get some help.

@WonderfulWandering - I don't even see my plugin active on your site but you do have two sets of OGP data in your source - yoast's and something else is putting them in. gotta fix that.

I'm sorry I accidentally posted in the wrong forum:/
I am indeed using Yoast and not your plugin because someone had told me Yoast would fix my problems.
    Not, apparantly.
The only thing I can think of that's adding OGP data besides Yoast would be the ShareThis plugin. I'll try disabling it, but I don't want to get rid of it's since it's my sharing plugin:/

    @Wonderful Wanderings
I think the problem may be Social Media Widget not ShareThis - Try disabling that one (and clear the cache).
Looks like the widget is only used to add the Links to your social media profiles... There's other ways to accomplish the same.
Be glad to send you the html to help out if you decide to go that route - contact me via any of the websites listed on my WordPress profile.

Chuck - PS: sorry to follow up this thread on your plugin forum as it's not about WP Facebook Open Graph Protocol

    @Wonderful Wanderings
Please ignore my last post RE the widget - I was looking at the wrong plugin!!!.

The problem is definitely in the theme! Weaver II has built in Open Graph function.
Code is in functions.php lines 2199 to 2218....
    /* code for Facebook etc...
Don't try a remove_action fix - it breaks the theme unless you're very careful!
This method belopw seems to work, and is safe to try - no theme hacking!
I've found deleting the default image URL in the theme "advanced options" "Preferred Image for Facebook" disabled the built-in Open Graph function on a test xampp site

    Hope this helps.

    You fixed it!!!
Thank you sooo much for thoroughly looking into this.
Do you know I've already posed the question on my theme's forum a while back and they didn't go into it.
I've first contacted ShareThis-support because I thought it was the plugin. They told me to use Yoast and taht that would fix it. I also consulted my theme's support forum, but they also just told me to use Yoast. I've spent an entire afternoon stressing on setting the settings for Yoast (I use All in One SEO before, which was way less complex) and turns out it was something that simple.

    You made my day:-)

I maybe need to start a new thread for this, but can this also be the reason why all my posts have the same amount of facebook likes?

  26. mikeotgaar
    Posted 2 years ago #

Once again with apologies to Chuck :)

Entirely possible this was the reason for the likes all referring to the same page - I guess it was the homepage / domain. - See how it goes now...

Yoast SEO plugin will sort out most conflicts, but it depends on the way the theme is constructed - he obviously cannot check every theme.

Glad I was able to help - If you have more issues with the FB likes - let me know via my website contact pages as mentioned.
All the best for 2013 - Happy Blogging!
