    Hello:

I have a WordPress blog at culturespill.com using the “MY Guitar” theme by Dordor, and recently I have been trying to activate the wp-email plugin to allow my readers to email my posts to friends if they want to. When I attempt to activate this plugin, I get the following error message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: add_shortcode() in /home/content/t/r/a/traklwright/html/wp-content/plugins/wp-email/wp-email.php on line 287

If anyone can offer a plainspoken solution to this problem that will allow me to activate and use this plugin, I would greatly appreciate it!

  • You need to be using WP2.5 if you are using the 2.30 Beta

Any solution to this one, Gmazione? I am using 2.5 and have gotten my third fatal error on three different plugins. UGH!

apronstringsaflutter: reinstall WP, a few of my users has the same problem and after they reinstall it, it works for them. Do not overwrite, you need to delete everything except /wp-content/ folder and then upload it again.
