Plugin: WP e-Commerce categories messed up

Hello WP experts! I am having trouble with the e-Commerce WP Plugin.

I try to create a small online shop, at first I don’t even need the buying option. But I am stuck at the presentation mode.

I made a nice hierarchy of categories, where I have some top level categories then some sub-categories, then maybe other subcategory and finally the products. Every product will be only in one category.

But still my site doesn’t display them as I want. I want to display only the top-level categories when I enter the product page, then when a user clicks a top-level category I want a grid display of that category’s subcategories.
When a user clicks a subcategory, I want to display the products in that subcategory, and finally when someone clicks a product, I want to display the product description.

In my mind this is the most normal way a site should work, but I am having messed up stuff. Even the descriptions are messed up, so I don’t know what to do.
