Support » Plugins » [Plugin: Wp-e-commerce] can't activate with 32MB memory limit

  • Hi all
I always get Fatal error: Allowed memory size of .. when trying to activate my wp-e-commerce I can do it flawlessly with my personal computer, since I can freely increase the memory limit to e.g. 64MB. I only have a shared hosting and it has 32MB memory limit.

I also asked the host provider and they said it’s impossible to do so. Other ways: creating php.ini in each folder, .htaccess, change wp-config.php, or ini_set also doesn’t work. I also tried to change the value of active_plugins in wp_options table to a:1:{…..”wp-e-commerce….”} (I hoped that it will be marked as “active”) but it just makes another Fatal error message (memory exhausted).

Can we just install the old version of WP and wp-e-commerce, activate it, then update it to the current version? Or there is no other way than pursuing the more expensive package of hosting such as VDS or alike (hoping they give the greater value of memory limit)? Many thanks..
