• I have put in page IDs in the prescribed format (ID1,ID2,ID3, etc.), but they are not excluded from the tree.

Thanks for the great plug-in otherwise 🙂

  • I’ll look into it when I get a chance.

(I assume you’re not running wp-cache or similar plugins?)

Yes as a matter of fact I am running wp-cache. Is that a problem?

    Thanks for the help.

I’ve disabled wp-cache, but there’s been no change. Thanks for your help.

Did you also update the WP-dTree after disabling the cache, so the tree data was re-generated?

Remember that the tree is only generated when you add/remove content to your blog, or when you change any off WP-dTree settings. If you did neither of those things, you’d be looking at the old tree fetched straight from the database.

    Thus:
    1. clear the wp-cache (or disable it temporarly)
    2. add the excluded ID’s (at WP-dTree’s configuration screen) and apply the settings.
    3. visit the page to see the changes.
    (4. re-enable the cache)

Yes, I’ve tried all those things. WP-Cache is now disabled, and I’ve been applying the WP-dTree settings after every change.

Here’s a list of my active plug-ins, if it helps:

    Akismet
    All in One SEO Pack
    AskApache Google 404
    AskApache Password Protect
    Broken Link Checker
    cforms
    Dagon Design Sitemap Generator
    Flexi Pages Widget
    Google XML Sitemaps
    Ozh’ Admin Drop Down Menu
    pageMash
    RB Internal Links
    Redirection
    Subscribe2
    TinyMCE Advanced
    WassUp
    WordPress Mobile Edition
    WP-dTree
    wp-typogrify
    WP Pages Only
    WP Security Scan

Broken Link Checker and a few of the others (unfortunately I can’t remember which) were installed _after_ the problem wit WP-dTree became evident.

    Installed but not active:

    404 Notifier
    Google Analytics for WordPress
    WordPress.com Stats
    WP-Stats
    WP-Stats Widget
    FeedWordPress
    wp-cache

Thanks again for the help! 🙂

Right. I’ll look into it and bump this thread whenever I have an update for you.

Just to let you know, I’m having the same problem with WordPress 2.6.1 and 2.6.2. Caching plug-ins are disabled.

I’m having this problem and caching has never been turned on. It’s driving me nuts! The WP-tree screen seems to lose anything I type into the exclusions box rather than write it to whatever file it’s meant to write it to. I’m happy to edit that directly if you can point me in the right direction.

I am having the same problem not being able to exclude pages from the list.
i am using WordPress 2.6.1 is there a code i can put in to manualy put the page IDs that i wanna show or not show??

I’ve figured it out! if you just put in the page numbers to exclude it works not with ID1,ID2,ID3, but like this 1,2,3

Thank you heyjoe! That worked a treat. Such an obvious thing too. Hopefully it will help anyone else looking here for the answer.

… cool, so the “bug” really isn’t. Perhaps the instructions are problematic, but I’m unsure how to make it clearer. If you’ve got suggestions, please spill it.

    For reference, it now reads:

You can exclude specific posts or pages from the tree.
The format for this is ‘ID1,ID2,ID3’, where the ID is based on the ID you see when you manage your posts/pages.

Maybe you can put an Example: beside your explanation like this Input Example: 1,2,3, but also I think if you were just to say
” The format for this is the page ID numbers Exampl:’1,2,3′, where the ID is based on the ID you see when you manage your posts/pages.”

I just tested, and the Exclude option does work if you just list numbers and not “ID”. The description can be simple, like:

Enter the page IDs to exclude as a comma-separated list. The ID is based on the ID you see in the URL when you edit your posts/pages. For example: “1,2,3”.
