Not quite sure, but I’d recommend (re)uploading the plugin through FTP just to be sure, and switching to the default theme (temporarily) to see if that helps.
Thanks for the speedy answer Roy. Unfortunately,it is not it. The plugin was uploaded via FTP. Changing to the default theme does not help. There is definitely somtehing incompatible somwhere. As soon as the plugin is ativated from the plugin admin page everything dies, I get blank pages both for the site and its admin pages. Are there any incompatibilities known betweeen cumulus and other plugins? Thanks again. /CIB.
I’m not ware of any incompatibilities, other than some themes that hook into the wp_tag_cloud call. This sometimes results in empty tag clouds, but not in blank pages.
I’ve seen cases where FTP somehow messed up some of WP-Cumulus’s files, and reuploading them helped. Do you have access to error logs on your server? There may be clues in there.
I found the problem. A plugin called Rich Text Widget was interfering. Cumulus activated OK after I removed RTW. Many thanks!
