[Plugin: WP-Cirrus] IE7 and IE8: font jagged (no anti-alias)

    Hi, wp-cirrus is a great plugin, thanks!

    My one problem is that in IE7 and 8 the font appears jagged. Research indicates that those browsers don’t anti-alias the moment opacity is applied over a transparent background.

    After adding background-color to the a-element the font looks smooth again. Of course the transparency is more or less gone, too. So that indicates where the problem lies, but doesn’t fix it.

    I haven’t been able to find anything really helpful, so if there is a solution, I’d be very grateful for a hint!
