Support » Plugin: WP Better Emails » [Plugin: WP Better Emails] TinyMCE not loading correctly for non-admin

  • Resolved ajuliano

I came across a problem with this plugin today when my customer was editing a page.

The problem is that TinyMCE is not loading correctly for posts, pages and custom post types because he’s not an administrator. (The tool tips is displaying the classname instead of the actual name of the button – see this screenshot

I solved i temporarily by changing capability from administrator to add_users at row 161 in the plugin (because his role has that permission).

But the problem seems to be that WP Better Email’s TinyMCE is being loaded on non WP Better Email pages.

I am using the swedish version of WordPress, It might have someting to do with that.

    Hi ajuliano,

Thanks for pointing that out. I fixed this bug and updated the plugin.

    The problem still persist

and for non admin add some html tags to the post

I have a similar issue where non-admin users using IE cannot use the “insert link” button. I’m guessing this goes along with the TinyMCE issue.

To be honest I worry about using this plugin if it is going to reach into other areas. If WordPress or your plugin changes TinyMCE versions will it break each time? :\

Sorry for the inconvenience, just fixed the problem, the function checking whether to load or not the extra TinyMCE plugins needeed for editing of emails failed when user role was not an admin.

@sethstevenson: it’s not a TinyMCE issue. WP Better Emails uses the TinyMCE provided by WordPress so if WP updates, then the plugin uses it.

Please download the developpment version and tell me if everything is ok. I didn’t face any issue with different roles on WP 3.2.1.

    Thanks for your feedback.
