wordpress.com stats reports nearly 50 visits for 2/10/09.

sitemeter.com stats reports 5 visits, and about 20 page views for the same date.

    why the discrepancy?

i believe the sitemeter is more correct.

is wp.com stats unique visitors, or page views?

i believe wordpress.com stats is counting my own visits.

wp.com stats faq says my visits are not counted if i’m logged in.

does that mean if i’m logged in at the time of the visit, or at the time i view the stats?

if it means ‘at the time i view the stats’, then those stats are very unhelpful.

i often visit my own blog when i’m not logged in, but i still want stats to ignore my own visits.

is there any way to ensure that?

It might be a time zone thing. I’m pretty sure my wp-stats plugin is on GMT, while sitemeter and Google Analytics is on ET.
