[Plugin: WordPress.com Stats] usability issues (1 post)

I have to say NO! to that plugin. After testing it on two sites (unsuccessful because of necessary but lost WP.COM login informations) I have to say: it's crab! The reasons are...

    • ...it MUST use the engine from WP.COM and cannot one's own engine on one's own site...
    • ...one has to be logged in as the very first creator of the (external) blog or must have at least granted read-access to some other person for the stats. But if one only used the WP.COM login once to get that Akismet API Key and lost or forgotten exactly THAT information over the time one is hopelessly lost and can not use those stats thingy! Who could imagine one or two years that this information is getting so important now...!?
    • Why do I need to be logged in at WP.COM to see that stats? Couldn't be a valid API key enough? Akismet does not need me to be logged in...

Even after getting a new API key with fresh WP.COM login information you cannot use it because somehow your blog is bound to that old login information!

    No, thanks.
