 * I am using the WordPress.com Stats plugin and am having an issue with the time.
   The “day” turns over at 4pm local time.
 * The server is located in US Mountain Time and i am located in US Pacific time.
 * I have my blog set to UTC-8.
 * Is there anyway to set the WP.com Stats plugin to end a “day” at a different
   time? For example, i’d like mine to end at 10pm.
 * Thanks.

 * Oh dear, another unbeliever…
 * _You shall bow before the great Coordinated Universal Time._
 * You shall not think in or about any other time system/zone than UTC.
 * You shall organize your entire life according to UTC.
 * 😉
 * I suppose you now understand the issue: WP Stats runs on UTC. Barring a hack
   in the plugin, that’s just what there is.

 * so when the “day” in UTC time turns over (whatever time that is in PST) is when
   the “day” flips in the WP.com Stats plugin.
 * so i’d either have to set my blog UTC time to something way off from where i
   am located or hack the plugin.
 * im basically SOL.

 * Yes, at midnight UTC your blog’s “day” ends, too, according to WP Stats.
 * BTW: UTC = PST – 8 hours (so, UTC rollover occurs at 4:00pm PST)
 * Also, note that under Options > General settings you’ll see that WP itself also
   operates under UTC, which you can offset by whichever number of hours you’re
   at. This is somewhat different from some other plugins and scripts, that operate
   at the server’s timezone – from which you’d have to set the proper offset in
   hours relative to your local time. Finally: UTC doesn’t recognize / observe daylight
   saving time (DST), so during DST, UTC = PST – 9 hours
 * Of course, there are some [other stats plugins](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/statpress-reloaded/)
   that _do_ work with the same offset you use (set) for your entire WP blog, under
   Options > General.

 * It isn’t just an issue with stats. This is a change in one of the recent versions
   of WP. 2.8.6 didn’t have this issue. It appears that only 2.9.* has it. MailPress
   also publishes “Posts Published Yesterday” on UTC time, instead of local.
