• I keep getting an “error from last API key attempt” message followed with- Bad site URL. IPs (69.89.31.86) are not allowed. Move to a domain and then try again.
I have tried everything including calling bluehost and godaddy to try and figure out what is going on.
Nothing works. I am using a Mac. How can this plug in work for me?

  • To use this plugin, you need to have a non-IP URL for your site (for example, http://example.com/ or http://example.com/wordpress/ will work, but numeric IP will not).

Do you have a domain with GoDaddy and is site hosted on BlueHost? If so, you will need to map the domain to BlueHost name servers from GoDaddy domain control panel first.

    Hi,

I installed the wordpress.com stats plug in and akismet to get my api key.

A long time ago, i had a blog that i created with my email address but never used.

When i made an api key, it automatically linked it to that first blog, so i tried going back to that original blog, and deleting it. regardless of the fact that i deleted the old blog, stats still tells me that its like to the old one that no longer exists. when i click “add blogs to wordpress.com site” it gives me the error message above- “error from last API key attempt.”

    Please help! Thank you.
