  • Couldn’t you just use the Akismet plugin for WordPress?

In fact, it’s for this reason that I’m eager to see this plugin add support for custom/hidden fields, since Salesforce web-to-lead forms are PLAGUED by spam issues. I don’t believe this plugin can be used in an enterprise setting until it does add custom field support…

This is a great plugin that is dearly needed. But I don’t believe it’s being actively updated. There doesn’t seem to be anyone minding this particular store.

I’m not sure how Akismet would be integrated with the current version of the plugin without hacking it up, but that’s a very interesting idea. I can’t speak to the level of support and maintenance for the plugin because this is my first (and only) issue, but I sure hope a new version is on the way soon.

IMHO the Salesforce WP plug-in just needs a CAPTCHA field to be most effective. They could (should) make it optional.

    AGREED! Captcha pretty please!!!!

Wow, 40 spam messages via the salesforce web-to-lead form today. I’ll be hacking the plugin to add a captcha, but would really love to see it built in as an option!

nhtahoe – any chance you’d share your hack to the WP to SalesForce plugin?
