The captcha sometimes is blank (has no characters in it although the background images is there), however if the same captcha image url is reloaded it works.

Salesforce plug-in is working well except for CAPTCHA. Are there dependent plug-ins or edits required to get it to work?

Am just getting background image and can't enter blank CAPTCHA code in that instance. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Everything needed for the captcha is included in the plugin. If you're not seeing text, I suspect your server doesn't support the type library needed by the captcha to generate the image.

There is an automated anti-spam system built in (the captcha is an additional layer of protection if the other solution is not sufficient).

So what is the solution if the type library is not supported?

Akismet Captcha works fine on our server but the SF plugin does not.

Need a solution as we are getting buckets of spam daily.

Anybody able to help on this as I have spent hours trawling the web.

    Thank you

    Gvaccaro,

Sorry to hear that neither of the anti-spam measures in the new plugin are not working for you. Unfortunately we can't test on every server configuration, and automated anti-spam is hard to test without releasing the code to see how it fares in the wild.

The font library being the issue was an educated guess -- I have no way of knowing what the issue is without knowing more about your server.

The Akismet CAPTCHA is externally generated so it's not an apples to apples comparison. We chose not to go with that library as it had a required size which would;t work in most theme sidebars (making it a non-starter).

Can you tell me about where your site is hosted? (domain, php version, hosting company, etc).

A phpinfo() dump would be helpful (or a link to where I could view one).

If you have a development site (non-public) on the same server that I could poke around on, that'd be very helpful as I could troubleshoot the issue directly and potentially provide an update to fix the issue (if possible with your server config).

I understand if you don't want to post those here. You can email me directly from my contact page: http://thoughtrefinery.com/contact/
