BUG - Membership - Anyone can register (even when NOT allowed) (4 posts)

I like your Social Login plugin, very easy to use & configure. However, here's a bug.

In WordPress under "General Settings -> MemberShip" if the check-box for "Anyone can register" is NOT checked, normal registration is not allowed. However, when using the Social Login plugin, on the Login screen if any of the Social buttons are clicked for a user that is not a member, they are automatically made blog members, this should NOT happen & is a security hole.

How soon can we get a fix?

This is actually how WSL is supposed to work, and it's explained on the plugin user guide

Are you saying that if you install WSL that it doesn't do a simple check to make sure the site is allowing new users to register before showing the option to login/register using your plugin?

Personally, if I put in the admin settings of wordpress that I do not want users to register on the site I expect plugins to respect that setting and not override it for no particular reason.

I do not have the login plugin and I'm thinking of unchecking the "Anyone can register" box. Would this setting have anything to do with a visitor not being able to upload a photo using the NextGen Public Uploader? I'm the site admin and the uploader works very well for me. I notice on the NextGEN Uploader site, it states "Any visitor that is logged into your website will be allowed to upload an image to the gallery."
