[Resolved] [Plugin: WordPress Simple Paypal Shopping Cart] Encoding problem

  • First of all, the plugin is AMAZING! Thank you so much for coding it.

I have found one problem: I have product descriptions in Spanish, with accented characters, like “TĂș”. When you reach the Paypal page, the encoding of these words is broken.

And one question: In the sidebar cart, why does the title appear twice, when you add products to the cart? i.e. there’s the sidebar widget title and the shopping cart title.

Let me know if you want me to contribute my Spanish translation of the plugin (only the public area so far).

I will address the character encoding issue.

For the sidebar widget you can always use a standard WordPress text widget and then use the shopping cart shortcode in it and you won’t get the title.

    I really like this plugin!!

I am looking for a plugin for a new travel website. I would like the plugin to operate similar to your shopping cart. The site will have a number of tourist map locations to visit. Each location would have a post/page with a button “bucket list” that would add that location to a ‘shopping cart’ like list. A visitor could add the locations they would like to visit by pushing the button then the cart type list would have a button to save and/or email the list to the admin and themselves.

I have looked but cannot find anything like it. Could you possibly create such a plugin?

Thanks for the tip on using the text widget to add the cart via shortcode and hide the title.

I wanted the cart to always display on store page and on the rest of the site only when something was in the cart. I used the per page widget, and put the shortcode in a text widget with no title on every page but the store page… it works!
