[Resolved] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] WordPress SEO – Ignore special characters in focus keyword

  • WordPress version: 3.3.2
    WordPress SEO version: 1.1.6
    Priority: Low

    I did this:
A lot of my posts have a ®, ™ or © in the post title, yet when using the focus keyword with or without the special character it doesn’t recognize the keyword as being present in title or content.

I expected the plugin to do this:
Is there anyway for the focus keyword to ignore special characters in the heading and content? Not a big issue as I know it’s there as I can see it but just wondering.

    Many thanks!

Hmm if you enter the focus keyword without it, it should be fine, isn’t it? If not, can you give some more specific examples?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

It seems to be erratic, however I think it’s from my client copying and pasting into the Visual editor.

So in the HTML editor rather than ™ it’s actually showing ™ and when this is in the middle of the keyword phrase it causes an issue.

Not a plugin issue then I guess!

Ok thanks for clearing it up!

    Thanks, sorry for the distraction!
