Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] WordPress SEO and Error with Post_Tag-Sitemap.xml

  • Hello,

I am confused as to what has happened within Google Webmasters and the WordPress SEO plugin on my blog. In my sitemap, everything is being accepted by Google except now I started getting an error saying that in my post_tag-sitemap.xml that the urls are roboted out.

I believe that’s because in my robots.txt file, I have the following:

    Disallow: /tag/

because I don’t want to have the pages containing “tag” indexed in Google for fear of duplicate content. I only want the posts themselves indexed in Google. So, if my sitemap is only listing my posts by /tag/, then how is Google going to see my individual posts in my sitemap? Please help as soon as possible, for I don’t want to risk getting de-indexed from Google.

Also, I thought that it was strange that I had never received this error in Google Webmasters before I upgraded to the latest version today. Should I revert back to a previous version of WordPress SEO?
