[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Why change sitemap name? Will it still be found? (3 posts)

Using webmaster tools I configured my robots.txt file to load the sitemap like this: Sitemap: http://www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml

I notice you changed the name of the sitemap generated by your plugin to: sitemap_index.xml

Does this means I have to update the robots.txt files on all my sites to get the sitemap working.

Or should I remove the sitemap from robots.txt and let your plugin handle it automatically?

    Please advise.

    Love the plugin btw.
    Thanks for sharing it.

    Best regards,

    Khun Cha

you might want to check for the content of that map. there is a difference between a regular sitemap and an index sitemap.

you can just remove it from your robots.txt and let the plugin handle it all.
