If we enable Yoast SEO sitemaps, would we be alright in disabling the Google XML Sitemaps plugin?
I know we would have to change the webmaster settings so that they would use the new xml file instead of the old one, but are there other things I'm missing? Looking at the new xml file, I see it leads to 4 others, and I'm wondering how well that would be handles by crawlers.

Same here. Should we replace it and how to incorporate all Yoast generated XML's into webmasters?

From a post I saw, one of the commenters said this:

Just a quick follow up for others reading this thread and experiencing blank sitemaps: Joost figured out that my old Google XML Sitemap plugin had added a rewrite line to the .htaccess file, which stayed there even after I deactivated the plugin. Once that was removed, all worked perfectly!

Not sure how to fix this but maybe that helps!

i tried to use Yoast xml sitemaps, but found some wrong contents (urls that would lead to 404 errors) in the NextGen Gallery (ngg) sitemap. The date of the ngg sitemap file is also year 1970. Ouch, back to old reliable Google XML Sitemap for now ...

No complaints on the SEO function though ...

Can you add which line the Google XML Sitemap plugin added to the .htaccess file?
