• Hi,

I have for my PC home page a different url as with my mobile home page. So, as Google suggests, I should use the link rel=”alternate” on the PC page which points to the mobile page. But WordPress SEO by Yoast creates on the PC page a canonical link which points to the PC page. So, as I understand this, in this case I should NOT use the canonical, but the alternate link. And on the mobile page I should use a canonical which points to the PC page and not how WordPress SEO by Yoast does it, to the mobile page.

How can I tell WordPress SEO by Yoast to do this stuff right?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

    Albert

Perhaps I should help you in responding: Here is the Google page where they describe the procedure. And there the paragraph “Separate mobile URLs” is important.

I hope that this gives someone the info to help me.

I can’t imagine that none has ever experienced the same problem I’ve mentioned. It’s very common nowadays that mobile and PC pages live on DIFFERENT URLs.

I hope that Joost de Valk also checks this post and has a little time to answer this.
