Support » Plugin: Yoast SEO » [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] old titles still remain

  • Resolved fanminds

i formerly used all in one seo pack for seo. but i switched to this plugin (yoast wp-seo) cause i was not really happy with all in one seo pack. So i deactivated allinoneseo pack and then removed it. then i installed yoast wp-seo. However my old all-in one seo titles still remain and (with nothing filled in) in the configuration of yoast, my titles already look crap. At some pages, the title is three times the page name.

    See for example.

Please someone help me fix this…

Hey, if you go to SEO -> Import, you can actually import your old meta descriptions and titles from All in one SEO. If that gives issues, you could also try the SEO Data Transporter plugin!

hi, thanks (bedankt) for your quick reply. i tried both of those and it doesn’t work.

i’m afraid there’s still some rubbish titles from all in one seo in my database or somethign…

the part that remains of every page (even when i create a new page) is “Fanminds -” at the end of the title. Now that part “Fanminds -” used to be the first part if my all in one seo title setup…

    What can i do?

that is probably due to the code in your header.php. You can do two things: either enable “Force rewrite titles” on the SEO -> Titles settings page, or go into your header.php and change the title element to just this:

    <title><?php wp_title(''); ?></title>

thanks, editing header.php worked great except for my blog… any pointers what could cause that?

Another header file is used for the blog?
