• Wordpess SEO by Yoast v1.2.2

ISSUE NO.1: The Google News sitemap isn’t being generated. No sitemap at http://example.com/news_sitemap.xml (You can replace example.com with whatthenerd.com to see it for yourself.)

ISSUE NO.2: The “Google News” tab under WordPress SEO by Yoast widget in the post editor is missing!

So, basically, it looks like the News Sitemap module for WordPress SEO by Yoast is incompatible with the latest version of either the plugin (v1.2.2) or WordPress (v3.4)

Please take a look at this Joost, thanks!

    Hi Joost,

I can confirm these issues from my test blog:

    • Include in News Sitemap checkbox has to be checked for every post — yes, it doesn’t seem to obey the post-type settings in Google News Sitemaps settings section of WP SEO.
    • The same applies for Google News Genre as well. I have it set to none in settings screen, but in posts it defaults to “blog” for some reason.
    • What’s the purpose of Default Keywords in the Google News Sitemaps settings section of WP SEO? I can’t find them anywhere in the News sitemap. As for each post, ONLY “Tags” are being shown as <news:keywords>.

Just in case you want to see my settings, here’s a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/imn1n.png (Plz note that it’s my test blog)

    – Also, I see that the timestamps in Google’s own sitemaps use their timezone i.e not UTC. Is there any reason why WP SEO sitemaps doesn’t respect my WordPress site’s timezone settings?

Hope this gets Joost’s attention — I see that he’s active right now 😛

How to show unlimited url ?

or how to show a multiple sitemap?

I have set the post-type to be included in the google news sitemap followed @aahan settings, but it still usually ticks off for the Google News sitemap inclusion.

Is the News Sitemap actually working for people? It refuses to include posts that I mark for inclusion as noted here.

You still have to check the “Include in News Sitemap:” on every post to get it included into google news. This ever going to be fixed?

I have a problem with this news XML plugin, as well. The plugin generated a news XML feed, but it’s empty. I have opted to include posts in the news xml, and when I go to posts, they are checked to be included in the feed, by default. However, the XML sitemap is empty.

I would like it populated with all my old posts. Maybe I’m not understanding how this works, and it’s only supposed to contain timely, new posts and not archives. Am I doing something wrong?
