[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] How long before a new post shows un in Google index

  • First of all, I’d like to thank Yoast and the community for this fantastic free product!

Q: I know new blog posts are automatically submitted to Google and Bing for indexing, but how long should it take to show up? Many times it takes 5-10 days.. (I’m testing with the ‘site:’ operator to look for url keyword).

Some of my other sites use the popular Google sitemap plugin, which also notifies Google and I could swear new pages & posts show up in an hour or so.

    What are other people seeing??

    Thanks,
    Abdul

  • Hey,

It depends on your site and what Google “thinks” of it. There is no standard interval for having your posts on Google’s index right away.

The last few years Google has been doing a great work on keeping their index fresh and up to date really fast.
