[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Homepage title displays a post page format (category/name/date)

Hi,
I have setup the plugin according to the Yoast instructions, and other online information. Everything is working, except the title for the homepage.
It is displaying a post pages format (category/name/date).

I have posts in widgets on the homepage…so think this may be interfering?
When i try set the SEO titles for the homepage itself…using the Yoast widget within the page editor…it does not display correctly when view the homepage.

Does anyone have any info as to why this may be happening??
