  • Latest version of wordpress and the plugin.

When i view my source i see:

<!– Admin only notice: this page doesn’t show a meta description because it doesn’t have one, either write it for this page specifically or go into the SEO -> Titles menu and set up a template. –>

I can’t seem to find anywhere to put keywords for my home page or my posts.

Do my posts not automatically get keyword and description detail from the post or do we need to type it in every time, as we publish 20 articles a day so would be a lot of work.

    Many thanks,

  • i am having a same problem.
Does anyone have the solution for this?
    Aruffell you got any solution??

Have you set up meta description templates in Yaost SEO Titles and Meta – Article Types?

Add this to the meta description fields for posts and pages %%excerpt%% include both the percentage marks before and after!

This adds the excerpt text OR an auto generated description if no excerpt exists

    Hi Mike,

And how is your wonderful self today?

I have SEO by Yoast installed and taken off be deleting facebook plugins and i still have duplicate og tags which is not allowing my url pasting in facebook scrap the meta description and image of my url. I use the good news theme by Momizat.

and example of an article having duplicate og tags reported by google object debugger

I look forward to hearing from you.

    many regards

You have duplicate meta description as well from another SEO plugin

There’s 3 sets of og meta tags. first I cannot identify, 2nd is Yoast – WordPress SEO, 3rd is “Open Graph Meta Data” by Nick Yurov

Looks like too many plugins trying to do the same thing.

    Hi Mike,
and how is your wonderful self today? Thanks for your reply.

I disabled Open Graph by Nick and noticed i have the two above left. Unfortunately no reply from Yoast. And there seems to be no answer out there to solve this directly. Is there at least some plugin that would scan and remove duplicate og tags. or something or word press do something about this.

I use only Yoast SEO plugin, no other. Its pretty strange and so annoying cannot post properly in facebook.

thanks once again and hope you find an answer for me, nevertheless, i wish you a merry Christmas and a wonderful and prosperous new year ahead.

    many regards

    You’re running Jetpack?

    Joost, Yay.

and how is your wonderful self today? So glad to read from you. I am not running Jetpack.

last night, I went back into wordpress and literally disabled anything that had the word SEO as a setting where i found one (in my theme, plugins etc), i didn’t care what they were, except for your plugin – and then ran my url via facebook object debugger – and finally all working.

Thanks for being in contact and thanks so much for your essentials blog posts articles – my website has basically been built following very closely your advice and I am very glad.

Thanks for your work and i wish you a merry Christmas and most prosperous new year ahead.

    many regards

Sunny greetings from Diani beach! I hope I am not in a wrong place writing my question.

When you use yoast seo plugin do I have to leave the title name and tagline in general setting of wordpress empty? Or should I leave empty the title and meta setting for home page in Yoast seo plugin empty. When I view our page source page it is repeated there several times.
And there is also the same in settings for user profile, it wants from me again to write some title for author page and meta…
Is there some girl friendly manual to this?
