I have a question regarding disabling the categories in the sitemap.
I’m building a site with profiles for a model agency.
I’ve created a parent page [model] and below that I create a new page for each model [model1].
So http://www.url.com/model/model1 is the model’s page and it shows some info (generated from custom field values)
On this page [model1] I want to list the posts coming from the category with the same name as the (model’s) page.
So http://www.url.com/model/model1 shows the posts from http://www.url.com/cat/model1.
I did this because of the info above each page (created by custom fields) and so I can use the title from the parent page /model/ for seo as well instead of /cat/
Since I don’t want double indexed content I want to disable the categories from the sitemap since http://www.url.com/model/model1 and http://www.url.com/cat/model1 are the same except the profile info.
Is that a wise thing to do ?
Does disabling the category archives disable just the http://www.domain.com/cat/ links in the sitemap or disable the listing of posts all together ?
