[resolved] [Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Cannot set the static front page title as I want (5 posts)

I use the 1.2.2 version of the "WP SEO by Yoast" plugin, with WordPress v 3.3.1 and I cannot figure out how to set the front page title as I want.

I have set a static page as the front page. I would like to have the title "Toto - Official Site" for the front page, and "<page title> - Toto - Official Site" for other pages.

In the SEO backend, menu "title & meta > Post types", I have set the page title model to "%%title%% - Toto - Official Site"
In the SEO backend, menu "title & metas > home" I see the message "You can change the title of the home page by editing it".
But when I change the title of this static front page to "Toto - Official Site", I see "Toto - Official Site - Toto - Official Site" as the front page title.

How can I have a specific static front page title ?

I finally hacked the plugin so that it fits my needs.
The modification patch against the 1.2.2 version is here

I would be great if it could be included in the next plugin version.

OK, I reply again to myself to say that it was not the better approach to hack the plugin.
In fact, what you need to change in the static front page to have the title you want is not the WordPresss page title. It's the WP SEO page title that can be set in the WP SEO options panel that appears below the main page content editor.

If, ... just once, .... the author (Yoast) could provide adequate, well-written documentation, in correct English grammatical structure, it would go a long way in reducing the 71 pages of problem reports on this support forum.

I Richard who wants to know.

As the WordPress code and Yoast SEO plugin code are free software, you are free (and encouraged) to contribute. Feel free to complete the "Description" and "FAQ" sections of the official plugin page with adequate, well-written documentation in correct English. I'm sure that if you send you own modified readme.txt file to Yoast, he will be happy to include it in the next release.

    Be constructive.
