[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Annoying Metabox Problem

  • I can’t seem to get WordPress SEO’s metabox to hide, move or collapse and stay that way. Dragging to another position, whether in the side column or under another metabox works until the page is refreshed. Same goes for collapsing it by clicking the title. Even unchecking the box under screen options won’t hide it. It just comes back, right under the post box, expanded, every time. This is driving me insane. Is this supposed to be a feature or is something broken?

  • Seems to be related to custom post types somehow. Hiding on posts works.

Sorry Yoast, this looks like a WordPress bug… But I can’t really tell. Closing this as resolved.

I have the same problem with custom post types. How did you resolve it?

I didn’t resolve it, I ignored it… Sorry. I marked it as resolved because I couldn’t figure out if it was a WordPress Core bug or a WordPress SEO bug. I don’t have the time to really debug this issue further, so I closed it.

I suppose that determining where the bug is, is the plugin author’s responsibility, so I guess I should leave it open for him to close…

Reopening, since there’s confirmation of the bug.

Hi Kenny. May I ask how are you creating your custom types? Manually via functions.php or using a plugin? If using a plugin, which one? I am using Ultimate CMS and suspect that may be the culprit.

I write one-off plugins or stick it in the theme usually. I do a lot of custom hand crafted stuff.
