I uploaded (FTP) the contents of the zipfile to the plugins directory, changed the file permission of folder and files to 777 and tried to activate. I have done this with all my plugins without any problems except with this one.

I am expecting that my database is a little bit corrupt as my button bar disappears only on the home page when I active a trustworthy plugin (wp-meetup); also the bbForum links disappear sometimes. When I deactivate this plugin (wp-meetup), everything works again but it doesn’t make sense.
