Support » Plugins » [Plugin: WordPress Popular Posts] “Sorry no data” – Does upgrading wipe your popular posts history?

  • Hello

I’ve been using WPP for a few months (it’s brilliant, thank you!) but upgraded and now it says “Sorry, no data”

Does that mean that in upgrading I’ve lost all my previous “ratings”?

And, if so, can I manually enter some? And is it likely to happen every time I upgrade?

I just upgraded to WPP Version 2.0 and followed the clever way around getting it onto your sidebar with the shortcode.

    Thanks for your time,
    Tim.

  • Hi timmoss,

Nope, it doesn’t wipe your data. You’re upgrading from version 1.5.1, right? Have you checked phpmyadmin to see if there’s any data on wp_popularpostsdata and wp_popularpostsdatacache?

Update: just checked your site and I’m seeing some popular posts being listed, is that right?

    Hi Ikki

The popular posts are from another plugin (which I used alongside yours before you added the multiple widgets function!).

Will check out this phpmyadmin thing and report back!

    Many thanks,
    Tim.

    Hey timmos,

You might want to check this thread, it might explain the “Sorry, no data” message: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/352693?replies=22#post-1361288

    Hello Ikki24,

I am using WordPress 2.9.1 and WordPress popular posts 2.0.2, but Most popular posts displayed “Sorry. No data so far”.
After checking phpmyadmin, i see there’s not any data on wp_popularpostsdata and wp_popularpostsdatacache. Please tell me how to fix this problem.
Looking forward to hearing from your reply.
