I’m using this plugin so that I can sort of fake a ‘global’ search across my network of sites. I configured the plugin to create a new blog, which it did perfectly.
I have the search form on my main site, and modified searchform.php to search the new blog created by sitewide tags (I changed the action attribute in searchform.php to get_site_url( 'new blog ID' '/') instead of home_url('/')
This turns up the search results as expected, but the url’s in the search results reflect the new blog w/aggregated content, not the blog they originated from. This is not surprising, but I do need to change those urls somehow – any thoughts or suggestions?
Also, I did try to pull all posts into my main blog (which seems like the best solution in my case), but I can’t seem to get that to work.
If the permalinks shown on the search results don’t link to the original site then you’ll have to look at the theme you are using on the tags blog. If you switch the tags blog to TwentyTen (or Eleven) the permalinks should be to the original post.
