[Plugin: WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages] This plugin is a bad workaround

  • Most users of multisite or custom post types will need ways to connect content from different blogs or different post types.

Tags would be the obvious instrument to achieve this. Unfortunately blogs and post types all have their own separate tags.

This plugin is supposedly the solution, but it just creates a new blog, causing all kinds of other issues.

Please Automattic, fix this in the core! If you want to be a full CMS, not just blogging software, you need this solved.

I’m not Automattic, but I appreciate teh feedback.

I have to vehemently disagree with the poster’s initial premise. This plugin has been a godsend. It works brilliantly, almost magically, surpassing all other plugins by far for bloggers wanting to flow posts from sub-blog to main blog. I especially love that for the website user and for search engines, there is only one post, not duplicate posts. Thank you Ron, Doncha, imweb . . ., et al. This is one of my most valuable plugins.

But it does not make tags truly sitewide/installation-wide – as they should be to begin with imho. It does not solve that problem.
