I installed the sitewide tags plugin and everything works exactly as expected with one exception, images from sub-blogs don’t show up in primary blog.
Basically I set it up so that my primary blog#1 pulls articles from all the other blogs and displays them on the blogs page. So far so good.
If I add an article to any site other than the primary site, and I then add pictures to the article, like a thumbnail, then the thumbnails work perectly in the secondary blog.
The problem comes in on the primary blog. Because the plugin basically duplicates the post from the sub-blog, and adds it to the database of the primary blog, thumbs don’t show up.
The reason is simple.
When you use the media browser to insert an image, it inserts it as website.com/files/month/filename which is expected.
However because the article is being copied to the root blog, when I call the loop on the root blog, it is expecting any images to be in the root blogs directory blogs.dir/1/ where really it is not there.
Remember the article was written on a sub-blog, and sitewide tags is simply pulling the article in. In the case above the image path should be blogs.dir/3/
This means that there is no way for the images to show up on the primary blog.
I have seen sitewide tags working on other sites, but have no idea how to do this when images are involved.
