SSL and Mapped Domain (3 posts)

I have a request to add to this plugin. Right now if I set a mapped domain to be primary all the reference link going to the dashboard (i.e. wp-admin-bar links, edit links, etc) are all pointing to the mapped domain (e.g. http://mappeddomain.com/wp-admin/). Can you please add an option to allow user to visit the original domain for entering the dashboard? I need this feature because I'm having trouble accessing the dashboard with the mapped domain when Force SSL admin is on. I don't have SSL certificate for the mapped domain.

You are going to run into a very basic problem pretty fast. Because of the way SSL works, you can have only one SSL cert per IP. Unless you have more than one IP to use for SSL, you are still stuck. They will get one and only one SSL ....

You should be OK if a wildcard SSL cert is set up. Haven't tried it on WordPress but I've done it on other platforms that work in similar way.

On my install under /wp-admin/ms-admin.php?page=dm_admin_page, option 4 says "Redirect administration pages to site's original domain (remote login disabled if this redirect is disabled)" When I have this checked it's always redirecting me to the original non-mapped subdomain. Using version 0.5.3 of the plugin and WP 3.0.4
