[Plugin: WordPress MU Domain Mapping] Domain mapping and single domain hosting

So I’m just curious about this before I even try to use it. I am going to be using the simple cheapest hostgator hosting. It does what I want, and it’s inexpensive. However, I only get one domain, no more. I can have unlimited domains for twice the price, but I’d rather not. I was just wondering if this would interfere with that. Since I can’t add any more domains via cpanel, would I still be able to use this to map multisite sites to other domains? If that makes any sense at all.

TL;DR – Can I have multiple wordpress sites mapped to domains, if my hosting provider only provides me with a single domain?

  • You would need to have multiple domains in order to map them…

This plugin is for people who have multiple domains and want to route them to a network WP install, which by default supports subdomains or subdirectories, not multiple domains

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated.
