    Hi folks,

I’ve got multi-site running fine and the mapping plugin installed, but the secondary site is not picking up the domain name. I’ve searched around previous forum posts, but can’t find answers to help.

My situation: primary site and domain hosted with Godaddy. All is well here.

Secondary domain parked at Gandi, where the A record is pointing to the IP of the site (i’ve verified that it’s the correct address). Using the mapping plugin this secondary domain is set as the primary for the secondary site (using newsite.com for now, will deal with www if/when i can gt things working).

when i type newsite.com into my browser window, i can see that it gets me to my hosting server, but it says that the site is unavailable (no error, just a server message).

So, do I need to somehow declare the secondary domain with my host ? If so, can anyone tell me how?

I started to try the CNAME approach, but admit that I don’t get it at all. CNAME doesn’t let me declare URLs as values, so I just got a bit lost. I feel like I’m following the A record approach as I should, so can’t figure out why I’m not getting the results I would expect.

    Help?
    thnx guys,
    -jennyb
