• In WP mobile pack, there is a option that removes “interactivity and media elements (such as script, Flash, movies, and embedded frames)”.
Still some scripts get loaded on my mobile page. The scripts are from activated plugins that don’t need to be loaded onto the mobile page.
On my blog it still loads this scripts, resulting in a size increase of 70 kb:

    /plugins/posttabs/postTabs.js?ver=3.0
    /plugins/wp-polls/polls-js.js?ver=2.50
    /plugins/google-analyticator/external-tracking.min.js?ver=6.1.1
    /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.4.2
    stats.wordpress.com/e-201028.js

So this option needs to be improved. A fix of this would be good, but a option which lets you chose which scripts would be better. Or does “jquery.js” needs to be loaded by every script? Then a fix is enough.

~Update: It aren’t only unneeded scripts. It also loads some unneeded css. At my site:
    /plugins/sidebar-login/style.css?ver=3.0
    /plugins/wp-polls/polls-css.css?ver=2.50

  • I concur that this is indeed an issue.. I use the Next Gen Gallery on my client’s site, and on the front page we have a Next Gen slideshow displayed. This slideshow will not display on the Opera browser or the Blackberry browser. So yes this feature could indeed be improved..

Have you found a solution for this ?

I have the same poll script included.

    Yes, I do.
Use the theme “Carrington Mobile” and those scripts aren’t loading anymore.
