WP Mobile is incorrectly installed Msg WP 3.3.1 (7 posts)

    I've tried activating the WP Mobile Edition after upgrade and get errors on two different sites. Using the Genesis framework. The README link doesn't take me to anything useful.

    Can you please advise on how to fix this great plug-in that I've been using for ages?

    Looks like the mobile theme is not uploaded when you do an automatic plugin install (i.e. from within WP itself).

    Download the zip file directly, unzip and upload the carrington-mobile-VERSION folder to your theme folder and the message should go away.

    I've got the Carrington theme installed in the Themes dir and I'm STILL getting this same error:

    WP Mobile is incorrectly installed. Please check the README.
    The plugin generated 225 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

    I uploaded the wp-mobile.php file manually using cPanel's File Manager.

    With the exception of the fact it apparently generated 434 characters of unexpected output, I have the same issue as goldentwig and this is after installing the plugin via the instructions in the README and uploading through FTP.

    WP Mobile edition, at least version 3.1, is looking for the specific directory "carrington-mobile-1.0.2" that installs with the plugin. The directory never gets copied into /wp-content/themes/.

    You can just copy the directory yourself and then activate the plugin directly.

    If you want to use a newer version of the Carrington Mobile theme, such as v1.2, then you may want to change the following line in the plugin's wp-mobile.pfp file:

    define('CF_MOBILE_THEME', 'carrington-mobile-1.0.2');

    If you remove the -1.0.2 then it will point to the normal theme installation directory for Carrington Mobile.
