  • I have same problem even though I have ticked box to do upload.
This was working for me earlier today but since I installed version 0.6 in production and then export, the import to local won’t grab attachments from production environment. The databse shows links to attachments in production. Not good. I fixed by editing database but it would be nice if it worked properly.

First time I’ve tried the importer between 2 of our sites & I created a duplicate post as a test.
Simple post of a few paragraphs of text & images exported properly. When I imported into second site, I selected Import Attachments > Download and import file attachments > ON. Everything worked fine, new post created – EXCEPT all images are still linked from the originating site.
Did the process again, ATTACHMENTS OFF, no change – of course (just in case, haha).
Then went back to the original site’s test post & made it Public (you never know what stops things from working, hey!), exported again, imported as a new post again WITH ATTACHMENTS ON as above.
    Still no go.
This DEFINITELY is faulty right now!
In 2nd website, I could copy html view code from orig. post to new post, copy images to new sub-dir. with FTP but any more than one simple post, struth, what an effort.
    Please fix URGENTLY, folks.

I have been using and moving WP sites for years and the import images option has NEVER worked. Don’t even know why it’s in there on import if the feature never functions.

    ‘Bout time they fixed it.

How does anyone export images along with posts from one WordPress wwebsite to another if this DOESN’T work?

    Shame on you, WordPress!

Is there a plugin that’s easy to use & does it PROPERLY for us?

I’ve been going crazy trying to get my media imported into my new site but nothing works, it just keep the old links to the images and videos.

I think they want you to use their $149 export function. That’s why the free import plugin doesn’t work as it says. Ha!

Is Worpress actually supported or not ? I’ve been a joomla user and support is top notch over there but I don’t see many answers around this forum. I thought there were more users than with joomla.

I might have to go the joomla route on this new site of mine…
