Support » Plugins » [plugin: WordPress Importer] Import Fails with Fatal Error

  • I was testing my site in a subfolder (/newsite) and when I was ready, I simply moved it to the web root folder and changed the settings to reflect the new URL, but that didn’t work properly with my theme and some plugins, so I deleted everything, after doing a WordPress export for my posts, then reinstalled WordPress in the proper location. I then tried to import my WXR file, and get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: libxml_use_internal_errors() in /home/japancpi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/parsers.php on line 59

I am using the same version of WordPress, with the same plugins and theme installed, but I cannot get my WordPress import to complete. Any suggestions?

Having the exact same problem. Would love to find a solution.

In this case, I simply deleted line 59 and then (I think) 78 in /home/japancpi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/parsers.php and it worked. The second line was from another error that came up after I deleted line 59. I didn’t have a lot of content, so I don’t know if that would work for a more complex site.

Boy, I wish that was my answer, but it’s not working for me at all – I just end up working my way down the code, commenting out line after line and creating new errors till soon I won’t have an Importer at all. :-/

    HALP?

Wonderful! Deleting line 59 then 76 worked for me!
