I've got a site running WordPress in the public_html directory. http://www.example.com. At the same webhost, I have a public_ssl folder in which I place files that has to be under https
    eg: https://www.example.com .

For one of the pages I want to navigate to public_ssl directory
    https://www.example.com/creaditcardentry

What should I put in the public_ssl folder?

    Please help to do this

Did a work around by pointing the ssl to the public_html directory.

Check if the hosting people can do it for you. If not
You need to edit the apache configuration file and set the DocumentRoot to the public_html folder for the virtual host which is configured for SSL
