Support » Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL) » [Plugin: WordPress HTTPS] Another partial encryption error

  • Hi

I find the plugin very useful. I know nothing about coding, which is a problem for me now. I have never used SSL before but I have just verified through support that the cert is installed correctly.

Like many people I have encryption errors, it seems like there are some images and also other elements of my pages that are not loading securely.

An example can be found at

Looking for any help here. I’m really not sure what code I need to edit to force images to load as https, or where to find it!

    Thanks in advance

    Hey dkm500,

The page you sent seems to be secure. Do you still need assistance?

I followed a few threads around the net and found some sort of solution, though I could do with a bit of advice for academic reasons. It might prove useful for future reference if I use the plugin on other sites.

First, I found an image loading unsecurely. It was the .gif loading icon for the footer slider. This <?php echo WP_PLUGIN_URL; ?>/premium-slider/images/ and <?php if($slider->preload=='indicator') echo 'indicator'; seems to be the snippet of code to load the icon. Can this somehow be changed to load the icon over either http or https depending on the page? It’s not hugely necessary but the plugin author is also interested to know if it can be made fully compatible.

Second, this might not be entirely your area, but is forcing a page to load over https not compatible with the WordPress protected page feature? If I password protect a secure page, inputting the password leads to a blank white screen hanging at the wp-pass.php page.

As mentioned, these are curious questions more than anything else. Thankfully I’m no longer desperate 🙂
