[Plugin: WordPress Download Monitor] how to set min-level in custom field

  • i am trying to set the min user role to author to download the member only downloads.

but when i set custom field as follows:
    name: min-level
    value: author

it blocks every logged in user including administrator to download with this message:
“You do not have permission to download this file.”

when i remove that custom field, every logged in user can download.

exactly what the info i should enter in the custom field to implement the feature described on the plugin feature list:

“Member only downloads, can also have a minimum user level using custom fields.”

can any one share example of how to set the custom field for that purpose?

    thanks

  • You might already have this figured out, but in case others have the same trouble:

If you want to use i.e. “Author” as the value, you need to set the name as req_role and not min-level 🙂
Been with the same problem for hours today, until I realised this part *lol*
Also note, that if you use i.e. Buddypress, the roles that gets added to the WP user options under “Roles” does not work. You need to use some of the native WP roles for this, i.e. author, subscriber, contributor etc.
