[Plugin: WordPress Download Monitor] Does entering file url cause it to be uploaded

  • Dumb question but can’t work it out. When I enter the url of a document that is already on a website instead of ‘choose file’ from my PC, when I finally click ‘upload and save’, does it literally copy this file across from its original website onto my wordpress site, or does it just copy a link so that the actual file isn’t on my wordpress site?

  • I’m not 100% on this, but I don’t believe it copies the file to your server. I believe it only stores the URL specified. This way you can FTP the files on your server outside of WordPress and let Download Monitor know of the location.

    Thanks Josh!
