    Are you getting any errors in your server error logs?

    No, it doesn’t.
    It shows like this:

    Dropbox Account Details

    , you have 2.1GB of 2.1GB (100%) free

    Next Scheduled

    Next backup scheduled for 2012-09-10 at 02:00:00

    I have the same problem.
    Nothing in Dropbox, and no errors.
    I have the problem in app. 15 differents wp sites

    It works with version 1.2 for me, but not with version 1.2.2

    Same issue here. Nothing in Dropbox. And I know how to use Dropbox, it’s an existing account. Backup say completed, shows the count of files, yet nothing in the Dropbox folder.

    I have added the zip extension to speed up the process of downloading to dropbox, which works fine on small sites. But there’s a major issue with the file sizes. Sites where the upload is over around 20MB don’t work. I have several wordpress ecommerce site that are around 100MB and it won’t upload the zipped files from the host server. The zipped files stay on the host in the backup folder. This makes the software somewhat useless to me unless someone can provide me ideas on how to get around this. Has the same problem on 2 different host servers, including hostgator. Changed the php.ini file to increase memory to 150MB which did get rid of some errors, but still no uploading to dropbox. I know uploading of large files is always an issue. Had similar issues with wpmanage system too on large sites. Obviously another parameter on the host needs changing.

    With a little more playing around, here’s the combination tht allowed it to work more reliably when uploading large (typ 100MB) zipped files. I’m no programmer so not sure if it’s ideal, but it worked for me. Two files were changed.

    define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’);

    then, in the wp-backup-to-dropbox.php increased memory limit from 150 to 256 and the error timeout from 5 to 30 seconds.

    define(‘USE_BUNDLED_PEAR’, true);
    define(‘BACKUP_TO_DROPBOX_VERSION’, ‘1.2.2’);
    define(‘BACKUP_TO_DROPBOX_ERROR_TIMEOUT’, 30); //seconds
    define(‘EXTENSIONS_DIR’, implode(array(WP_CONTENT_DIR, ‘plugins’, ‘wordpress-backup-to-dropbox’, ‘Extensions’), DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR) . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR);

    Thanks for the investigations Kevin.

    Behind the scenes PHP sucks at uploading files! It needs at least 2.5 times the size of your biggest file in memory to perform the upload.

    This is far from optimal and I am working on solutions to reduce the memory footprint of the plugin.

    In saying that, 256M is fine for modern servers and it will only use that amount for larger files.
