[Plugin: WordPress Backup to Dropbox] Fatal error upon installation

    I have installed this plugin to my WP installation.
    Upon clicking “backup settings” I get this error message:

    There was a fatal error loading WordPress Backup to Dropbox
    Failed getting token and token secret from response

    I searched for this and found one other person who posted the same problem 6 months ago but there was no reply on the thread.

    Please advise. Thank you.

    Do you get this error ever time? Or is it just a one off?

    Yes every time. I uninstalled, redownloaded and reinstalled the plugin and still get the error message.

    Interestingly, the error did not come up just now when I went into my WP dashboard from my ipad. I was able to authorize the Dropbox connection.

    Do you have OpenSSL installed?

    I honestly don’t know, I am working on the site for a friend, just have access to her dashboard. It is working great now, did a backup with no problems.

    Hello,
    I have the same problem, today I updated the plugin to version 1.1, When I went to the options page, I found the message “There was a fatal error loading WordPress Backup to Dropbox
    Failed getting token and token secret from response”

    I am not sure why or how it resolved. On my laptop I got the error message. When I looked at my WP dashboard from my ipad it was normal. Sorry I am not more help. Maybe it was a browser issue, so try looking at it from a different browser?

    Hi,

    I have the same problem. First I was running on WP version 3.3.1 (NL version). After I got the fatal error message I removed the plugin, updated to the latest version (3.4 NL), and re-installed the plugin, but the errors remains the same.

    “Er is een fatale fout opgetreden tijdens het laden van WordPress Backup to Dropbox –
    Failed getting token and token secret from response”

    Any ideas?

    Hi again,

    The fatal error resolved itself, I guess something was running in the background.

    I have another issue, but I’ll post it in another thread.

    I also tried from another PC but nothing changes.
    I deleted and reinstalled the plugin but nothing.

    Any ideas?

    I have just committed a change that will remove bad tokens if an error is encountered.

    Hopefully this will solve the problem.

    Please re-install the plugin to get the update and let me know if it helps.

    I reinstalled the plugin, but nothing.
    I get this error message:

    “Error
    There was a fatal error loading WordPress Backup to Dropbox, please reload the page and try again.
    If the problem persists please re-install WordPress Backup to Dropbox.
    Error message: Failed getting token and token secret from response”
